The Midland Township Zoning Board of Appeals will conduct a Public Meeting on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 7:00P.M. to more clearly articulate the basis for the ZBA denial of the request from Ross 819 Properties L.L.C. for a variance concerning the property located at 819 S. Patterson Rd. Midland, MI 48642.
The Public Meeting will be held at the Midland Township Hall, 1030 S. Poseyville Rd. Midland, MI 48640.
All persons having an interest in this matter are invited to attend in person or by counsel to make their views known. Written comments will be received at the Township Hall (address above) and will be reviewed at the Public Hearing on Monday, November 22, 2021.

Start using the Green For Life Bins the first week of May.
Pickup will be Wednesdays and Thursdays only. A letter is being sent by the new company to each household to let them know their day. Here is a copy of the pickup schedule.

Trash pickup is normal this week. Because the 4th of July is on Saturday, there is no change for the holiday.
All garbage MUST be in garbage cans (approved containers only).
Garbage collectors will NOT get out of trucks to pick up loose bags. Please don't expect our service workers to expose themselves unnecessarily!
If you need an extra container, you can use the recycle bin; if you do, please label the bin by writing TRASH with a marker on a standard letter-size paper and duct taping it to the lid. For your convenience, you can just print this TRASH sign.
If your trash can is broken or missing and you need a replacement container, please call the township hall and leave a message, the phone number is at the bottom of this page.

Midland Township has developed an update to its Five Year Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The plan evaluates existing recreation opportunities, reviews public opinion regarding recreation, establishes recreational goals, and proposes a five-year schedule of improvements and other related items that the Township wishes to pursue. A copy of the Draft Plan is available for review at 12-5-19 Draft - Recreation Plan 2020-2025. A copy can also be reviewed at the Midland Township Office at 1030 S. Poseyville Road Midland, MI 48640 during regular office hours on Monday from 8 am to 4 pm and Tuesday thru Thursday from 8 am to 1 pm.
If you are interested in submitting comments regarding the Draft Plan, please send written comments to Clerk, Shelly Armstrong-Miller, 1030 S. Poseyville Road Midland, MI 48640.
A public meeting to take input on the draft plan will be held on January 8, 2020 at the Midland Township Hall, 1030 S. Poseyville Road Midland, MI 48640 at 7 p.m.

Midland County Mosquito Control’s Spring 2019 tire drive, May 11 8AM-Noon at Coleman Public Works, 108 Jackson Street, Coleman 48618.

Midland Township is looking for 20 volunteer houses, for DEQ Water testing.
Houses must be built before 1988, be attached to city water, and have copper piping with lead solder.
This is no cost to you but you must allow access to a kitchen sink or bathroom sink.
We have a private testing company called 120 Water Audit performing the service for us.
Right now we are just looking for 20 people to agree to this. Please contact Heidi at the hall if you would be willing to participate. Hall number is 989-835-8866.

2019 MARCH BOARD OF REVIEW MEETINGS
March Board of Review Hearings will be at theMidland Township Hall, 1030 S. Poseyville Rd., Midland, MI 48640.
Hearings will be held on:
Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 9:00am – 3:00pm and on
Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 3:00pm – 9:00pm
Due to the weather, garbage pickup scheduled for Wednesday, January 30, and Thursday, January 31, is cancelled.
Garbage pickup scheduled for Friday, February 1, will run as scheduled.
The Wednesday and Thursday routes will not be covered on Friday, but will resume next week, February 6th and 7th.

If you are paying late taxes those need to be paid at the county building and they do accept debit/credit cards.
The Michigan form for deferment of summer taxes is available. Click on Forms and Documents on the menu and look for Form MI-471.

Scrap tires create a troublesome breeding ground for mosquito larvae and an eyesore. Midland County Mosquito Control and Midland Recyclers sponsor tire drives to help Midland County residents properly dispose of tires.

Free tire drop off with appointment: Ten (10) tires (size 16.5" and smaller) without rims will be accepted for free for those individuals who make an appointment. Call 631-1668 and be prepared to give the following information: Name, address and the number of tires you wish to bring.
Charge per tire drop off without appointment: Tires will be taken only if there is room and individuals will have to wait for an open time in the schedule to unload. Passenger car (16.5 and smaller) are $1 without rims and $3 with rims.
Help prevent mosquitoes in tires by:
- Keeping tires indoors
- Cover tires with a tarp
- Dispose of tires without rims or with sidewalls unsealed from the rims
- Call Mosquito Control to request treatment
- If your township/organization is interested in conducting a neighborhood cleanup, please call Esther at 631-1668.

Patience and Preparation. Please roll carpet into manageable pieces (tied if possible) bag and bundle as much as you can, large items please set out but know it might take a bit to pick these items up. They are lining up extra trucks to help but this will still take time.

The deadline to register to vote in the August 2016 election is July 5th, 2016 and for November 2016 is October 11, 2016.
This form is used to apply for an exemption of property taxes for disabled veterans.

The next meeting is scheduled for the City of Midland Planning Commission to meet on this subject.
+It is a public hearing where you can voice your concerns.
It is September 22nd 7:00pm at the Grace A Dow Auditorium.
There is an open house on September 16th 5:30-7:00pm for the traffic study information.
The Midland Area Community Foundation provides philanthropic leadership to strengthen our community by fostering collaboration and giving today and in the future.
+Midland Township will use the grant money to construct a multi-use path that will run on the east side of Poseyville Road from Overlook Park to the Bullock Creek Elementary School.
+The trail will connect to the trail network that goes from Overlook Park northward to the Tridge and west ward to the Chippewa Nature Center.
+It is also part of the proposed route of The Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail (GLBRT) which connects Midland, Bay City, and Saginaw.
Midland Township sincerely appreciates the Midland Area Community Foundations (MACF) efforts in helping us achieve our goal of a multi-path trail.
+With adequate funding our vision becomes achievableĀ along with enhanced quality of life for people who live and visit our Township.
